Nationwide Initiative Exemplifies UCM's Motto of 'Education for Service'

Consistent with the University of Central Missouri’s motto, “Education for Service,” the UCM Alumni Foundation has announced the first MuleNation Weeks of Service event. The initiative brings students, alumni and their families together to engage in projects that will benefit communities in Missouri and five other states. This event begins on April 10 and concludes on April 22, which is Earth Day. It takes place during National Volunteer Week, April 16-22.

UCM Magazine Earns 2022 Best of CASE District Award

UCM Magazine, a biannual publication with a print distribution to 25,000 University of Central Missouri alumni and supporters, is being recognized with a 2022 Best of District award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). A representative of the UCM Alumni Foundation will accept the award during the CASE District VI Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, Feb. 5–7.

The University of Central Missouri is honored to welcome Major League Baseball legend Reggie Jackson as the keynote speaker at its sixth annual First Pitch Banquet, taking place from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Artistic Expression Abounds at 2022 MLK Freedom Scholarship Fundraiser

While showcasing artistic expression in many forms, members of the University of Central Missouri and the Warrensburg community came together Jan. 18 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr during the Freedom Scholarship Fundraiser at UCM’s Elliott Student Union. The theme for the evening event in the Sandra Temple Elliott Ballroom was titled “Living the Dream: Live and in Color,” utilizing a new format while pursuing giving opportunities to help fund scholarships for students to attend UCM.

$1M Alumnus Gift to Benefit UCM's College of Education

The University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce that alumnus Greg Thurman, ’74, and his wife, Carla Thurman, of Franklin, Tennessee, have made a generous gift to the university. The gift of $1 million will fund the renovation of a gymnasium in the 53-year-old Lovinger Building into a state-of-the-art mixed-use educational facility.

UCM Collaborates with Alumnus to Get "Big Bang" Out of Giving Tuesday

Having been cast in film and television roles that include two hit CBS sitcoms, actor Brian Thomas Smith has a profound appreciation for the role his University of Central Missouri education played in his journey. As UCM engages in Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30, Smith will partner with his alma mater by hosting a student-led Zoom conversation the following day with individuals who support this annual fundraising event through their financial gifts.
