U.S. Army veteran Jeremy Miller will take time out from his Walk Across America for Veteran Suicide to meet with veterans who are attending the University of Central Missouri during a stop on campus Thursday, Oct. 3.
The opening of a new veterans wing at Tipton Correctional Center has created an opportunity for the Veterans Upward Bound program at the University of Central Missouri to extend services to a group of former military members who face unique challenges in pursuit of postsecondary education.
Return With Purpose, a free workshop that will help military personnel and veterans identify barriers in order to make a smooth transition from active duty to civilian life and career planning, is offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the University of Central Missouri. Registration is being accepted through July 25 for this one-day session, which takes place in Room 101 of the Elliott Student Union.
