Veterans Upward Bound Offers Free Academic Assistance to Service Members in Transition to Civilian Careers

While the nation honors military men and women on Nov. 11, through Veterans Upward Bound (VUB), the University of Central Missouri helps those who fought for their country obtain educational assistance they need to prepare for and serve in new careers.

Workshop Assists Military Members, Veterans, Reservists Transition to Civilian Life

From landing a better job, to getting the right education, to reconnecting with family and friends, these are just some of the goals many individuals may experience as they strive to make a smooth transition from military service to civilian life. The University of Central Missouri wants to help by offering a free Return With Purpose workshop for active duty military personnel, veterans, National Guard members, reservists, and military spouses, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in Elliott Student Union 101.

Veterans Advice-Insight into Career Change During Warrior in Transition Forum

Military veterans who transitioned into the civilian job market will be among those sharing advice for other service members who want to make a similar career change during the Warrior in Transition Forum. This free event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 8, at the University of Central Missouri.
