Janice teaches wellness in nursing, smoking cessation, and nursing research at the undergraduate level and she also teaches nursing theory research and academic technology at graduate level.
Individual student projects she has or is currently supervising include a comparison of rural and urban services; an online chew tobacco cessation program; OTC antihistamine usage in Nursing students; the lived experience of online computer competency testing in the hospital; a model for systematic program evaluation of healthy aging services provided by Care Connection Agency on Aging and a rural clinical practice for a remote smoking cessation clinic.
Janice is interest in research on health promotion, smoking cessation, and educational technology.
Janice is active in professional nursing activities including the Missouri Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, American Nurses Association, and is a university representative for the Missouri Veteran's Assistance League.
Janice is actively involved with the College and departmental activities including the Scholarship Committee, the Technology Committee, the Curriculum Committee, University Research Committee, University Professional Enhancement Committee, and University Awards Committee.
