Access Control

Access Control: Key Requests & Hours

University of Central Missouri | Facilities Planning & Operations

The Access Control office manages the distribution and security of all physical university keys. To ensure campus security, all keys must be requested and tracked through our official digital system.

⏰ Operating Hours

Access Control follows the standard University administrative calendar. The office is closed whenever University Offices are closed (holidays, breaks, or emergency weather closures).

Season           Hours           Days
Standard Academic Year           7:30 AM – 5:00 PM           Monday – Friday
Summer Hours           7:30 AM – 4:30 PM           Monday – Friday

🔑 How to Request a Key

All university keys must be requested via the electronic portal. Please note: The system only accepts requests from Faculty or Staff.

  • Faculty/Staff: Log in using your UCM network ID and password.

  • Students: You cannot request keys directly. Please contact your supervisor to submit a request on your behalf.

🔗 Access the Online Key Request/Status Form

Pro Tip: Ensure all fields on the application are complete. Incomplete applications will result in processing delays.

🔄 The Approval Process

Once you submit your request, it follows a specific workflow to ensure security authorization:

  1. Automatic Routing: Your request is sent immediately to the designated Building Manager.

  2. Authorization: The Building Manager reviews and approves the request.

  3. Fulfillment: Once approved, the request is sent to Access Control for the key to be cut and prepared.

📦 Pickup & Status Tracking

  • Check Status: You can view the progress of your key at any time using the Request/Status link.

  • Timeline: If it has been more than two weeks since your request was submitted and you have not received an update, please email accesscontrol@ucmo.edu.

  • Important Deadline: Per University Policy, issued keys will be held at our office for only 10 days. After 10 days, keys are returned to stock, and a new request must be generated.
