Captain Xavier A. Loredo

Assistant Professor of Military Science/MS III Instructor /Training Officer


CPT Xavier A. Loredo was born in Sumter, South Carolina on 04 November 1970.  On 17 October 1990, he (then PVT Loredo) enlisted in the United States Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist and attended basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  After basic combat training, he attended Advance Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. In December 1997, CPT Loredo completed his Regular Army commitment and returned home to San Antonio, Texas. He continued to serve in both United States Army Reserve and Texas Army National Guard.  In May 2003, CPT Loredo was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Texas at San Antonio and was selected for Active Duty. In June 2004, he attended Chemical Officer Basic Corps and 2008 attend Chemical Captains Career Course both at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. 


CPT Loredo's first assignment as a Petroleum Supply Specialist with the 47th Combat Heavy Engineer Company at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.  His other assignments include:  Petroleum Supply Sergeant, 528th Quartermaster Company, 80th Ordinance BN, Fort Lewis, Washington; Assistant Platoon Sergeant, 277th Engineer Company, USAR, San Antonio, Texas; Platoon Sergeant/Cadet HHC 2/149 Aviation BN (TXARNG), San Antonio, Texas; Battalion Chemical Officer and Battery Executive Officer, HHB/5-7 Air Defense Artillery, Hanau, Germany; BDE Chemical Officer, HHB 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Wurzburg, Germany; Operations Officer, Military Transition Team, Afghanistan; Task Force Chemical Officer Liaison, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Last assignment: Company Commander, C/1-48th IN BN, 3rd CM BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

CPT Loredo also has one tour-of-duty in Afghanistan:  Operation Enduring Freedom (Aug 08-Aug 09).


CPT Loredo's military education includes:  Primary Leadership Development Course; Basic Chemical Officer Course; Chemical Captains Career Course, Senior Chemical Staff Course, Tech Escort Course, Military Transition Team Course, Commander and First Sergeant Course and Instructor Training Course. His awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf; Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf cluster; National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star; GWOT Service Medal; Afghanistan Service Medal; NATO Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon with the numeral 3; Combat Action Badge


He is married to the former Ann Marie Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas.  He has two children daughter Desiree, and Son Brandon.
