For most types of financial aid, you will need to complete the FAFSA, available online or at any high school in your community. This form is very user-friendly and the online version has help features built right in to assist you with the more difficult questions.
The FAFSA may be filed beginning January 1 of each year. File early to receive consideration for grants, student loans, Federal Work-Study and some scholarships. There is no charge for submitting the FAFSA.
We encourage you to try your best to submit your FAFSA by UCM's priority filing date of April 1 each year. Eligible students who apply by this date have a greater chance of receiving exhaustible priority assistance. However, if the priority date has passed, you can still submit your FAFSA anytime throughout the academic year.
All students, and parents of dependent students, should apply for a U.S. Department of Education PIN online. PINs can be used to sign your FAFSA electronically, making the application process simpler and faster.
