2010/2011 Calendar

Calendar 2010/2011 School Year

December 2009

  • December 1, 2009 is the priority admission deadline for the 2010/2011 freshman merit scholarship programs. You must apply and be admitted to the University of Central Missouri by this date to qualify for merit scholarship consideration for the 2010 Fall semester.

January 2010

  • Continue to apply for local, community, and other scholarships for which you may qualify. Visit frequently with your high school guidance counselor, ask about funding from groups and organizations with which you and your family are affiliated, and use free-of-charge scholarship search web sites such as fastweb, collegeanswer, and scholarshipexperts.

February 2010

  • Submit your 2010/2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to enter UCM’s school code of 002454.
  • Review your FAFSA data. If you included an email address on your FAFSA, you’ll receive an email response within two weeks from the national FAFSA processing agency. This response will include a web site link to your FAFSA data. Look over this information carefully and make any corrections that may be needed.
  • If you wish to be considered for financial aid for the 2010 Summer Session, follow the procedures and instructions you’ll find by clicking here.

March 2010

  • Financial Aid Notifications start being emailed to admitted students who have submitted the 2010/2011 FAFSA. Your notification will advise you how to access and respond to (at the MyCentral portal) the types and amounts of financial assistance for which you qualify.
  • Indicate at the Portal the types of aid you wish to accept (or decline).
  • If you wish to apply for the Federal Stafford (student) Loan you’ve been awarded, and/or if your parents wish to apply for Federal PLUS (parent) Loan aid, follow the instructions at the Portal.
  • Register to attend a new student orientation and enrollment program. An invitation will be provided to you by the UCM Office of Admissions.

April 2010

  • April 1, 2010 is the priority application date for submitting your 2010/2011 FAFSA. Submitting your FAFSA by April 1 classifies you as an ‘on-time’ applicant, and allows you to be considered for awards from several of the more limited types of federal assistance. April 1 is the deadline date, however, to be considered for Access Missouri Grant funds.

June 2010

July 2010

  • Review all mailed and emailed correspondence you’ve received from the UCM Office of Financial Services, the national FAFSA processing center, or the state of Missouri. If you’re unsure about what to do or how to respond contact the UCM Office of Student Financial Services.

August 2010

  • Begin your college career at UCM! Direct deposit of the 2010 Fall semester portion of the Stafford Loan funds for first-year, first-time borrowers occurs 30 calendar days after the first day of fall classes. Credit balance funds from federal and state grant and loan assistance, and most scholarship programs will be direct deposited to your UCM account shortly after the first week of fall classes.

January 2011

  • Direct deposit of the 2011 Spring semester portion of the Stafford Loan funds for continuing borrowers, as well as most other types of federal and state financial aid occurs shortly after the first week of Spring classes.

You’re encouraged to contact the UCM Office of Student Financial Services with any questions you may have.
