The BSE in Secondary Education-Biology option is designed to provide you with the high-leverage competencies necessary to become an accomplished teacher for the 21st century, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet the needs of a diverse student population in a highly technological society. Through quality field-based courses, you will learn educational theories while observing and engaging in experiential teaching and learning. After completing this degree, you will be eligible to apply for educator certification in grades 9-12 Biology, as well as unified science certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
