Dr. Aidan González is an Assistant Professor of American politics. He received his Ph.D from the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs and his B.A. from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Dr. Gonzalez’s research interests include judicial selection and behavior in state courts. His work explores how a judge’s identity affects both their path to the bench and their behavior once on the bench. He has published research in PolityElgar: Research Handbook on Judicial Politics; and Open Judicial Politics: Companion Reader and served as editorial assistant for State Politics and Policy Quarterly. At UCM, he has taught courses in American government and public law and serves as advisor to the Mock trial team.
