Dr. Robynn Kuhlmann

Associate Professor, American Politics and Research Methods

Dr. Kuhlmann earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of San Francisco, her M.A. in Political Science from California State University – Chico, and her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of New Orleans.  Her fields of study are American political institutions and political behavior.  Her primary fields of expertise are state politics, political parties, and voting and elections.  Some of her publications include Show Me Missouri Politics: A Guidebook to the Missouri Constitution, Legislative Term Limits and Voter Turnout with Daniel C. Lewis, and invited blogs for the London School of Economics American Politics and Policy section. She is currently exploring the dynamics of primary elections on midterm turnout rates for seats in the Missouri General Assembly and how state-level institutions affect political behavior. Dr. Kuhlmann has been featured on NPR’s local affiliate radio station, KCUR and a variety of news outlets for expertise on elections and Missouri state politics. She is also the State Government Internship Coordinator, the college credit coordinator for the Missouri Boys State and Girls State Programs, and faculty advisor for Students for Political Action.
