Costs and Aid

The cost of study abroad can vary widely depending on location and duration. Students should note that because they are still enrolled as full-time students at UCM, FAFSA may apply for semester and academic year study abroad programs. Additionally, most scholarships can be used for your study abroad experience as well. To view detailed costs of each specific program, please visit our program search site.

Many affordable options are available.  For some programs, the cost of studying abroad for a semester or academic year is actually less expensive than a semester or academic year at UCM.

There are generally three main factors that influence the cost of a study abroad experience:

Study Abroad Grants

UCM students may be eligible to receive financial support through the Study Abroad office to fund an approved study abroad program in the form of two available grants:

Scholarships 

UCM students have many avenues for study abroad scholarships. When applying for scholarships students should understand the scholarship requirements.

Study Abroad scholarships vary often based on:

  • Area of study
  • GPA
  • Location
  • Duration

  • Funded by friends, family and alumni of UCM
  • Vary in criteria
