UCM Scholarship Finder helps you explore and apply for hundreds of UCM Alumni Foundation Scholarships established by generous alumni and friends of the university. The application opens annually no later than August 15th, with a priority deadline of February 1st and a final deadline of March 15th, the last day to submit your application.

Transfer Students:  Entering the Fall Semester

 

Dean's Scholarship (3.0-3.29 GPA)

 

Value: $500 per semester

Eligibility Requirements

  • Regularly-admitted to UCM
  • Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
  • Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2022 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
  • At least 24 earned college level credit hours for all classes completed prior to admission.
  • Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.0 - 3.29 on all college level classes completed prior to admission.
Please Note: Final Scholarship awards are based on the student's cumulative GPA (from the completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours) following the Spring 2025 semester for Fall 2025 admits. The UCM Admissions Office must receive final official transcripts before students can be fully awarded a scholarship and have it paid on their University account. If transferring to UCM for the Fall 2025, transcripts including all grades earned through Spring 2025 must be on file with the UCM Admissions Office no later than August 31, 2025.

Renewability

The Dean's Scholarship may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

  • Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
  • Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
  • Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 2.50 upon completion of each academic year.

Midwest Exchange Program

 

Value:

At the UCM, non-Missouri residents are charged the in-state tuition rate plus a non-resident fee. The Midwest Student Exchange Program will provide 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees of qualifying students. Students are responsible for the remaining 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees plus the in-state tuition rate.

Eligibility Criteria for Transfer Students

To be considered for participation in University of Central Missouri's Midwest Student Exchange Program (and pay 150% of University of Central Missouri's regular resident tuition, plus all required fees), students must be legal residents of one of the participating states (Maintains legal residency in Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio or Wisconsin).  Residents from Kansas and Nebraska will already receive a benefit through the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, which allows students to pay the "in-state" tuition for students attending classes at the main campus in Warrensburg.

Criteria for transfer students:

  • Regularly-admitted to UCM by March 1,
  • U.S. Citizen or permanent resident,
  • Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
  • Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
  • Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher on all post-high school, college-level classes completed through the:
    • Fall semester if transferring to UCM for the Spring semester, or
    • Spring semester if transferring to UCM for the Fall semester
  • Transfer students must have earned a cumulative transfer grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Funding received from this program cannot be combined with non-resident programs, which cover non-resident fees.

The total number of Midwest Student Exchange Program participants is limited to 100. Current recipients receive priority consideration.

Recipients of the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, Second Generation Grant for Transfers, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees may not also benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program.

Renewability

Transfer students may benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

  • Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
  • Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
  • Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25 upon completion of each academic year.

Mule Grant

 

Value: Covers any tuition and general fees remaining after federal, state, institutional and private/outside grants and scholarships have been applied.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be an incoming first-year undergraduate student or new transfer student with an associate degree.
  • Be a Missouri resident, and Access Missouri Grant-eligible*.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • File FAFSA on or before Feb. 1.
  • Be Federal Pell Grant eligible.
  • Maintain full-time (12 hours) enrollment each semester.
  • Maintain good academic standing.

Renewability Information

  • Files FAFSA on or before state of Missouri FAFSA priority deadline. 
  • Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 hours) each semester.
  • Remains Federal Pell Grant eligible. 
  • Students are eligible for up to 8 semesters, whether they receive it or not, beginning with their start term. For example, for a new student starting Fall 2026 would be eligible for the Mule grant up and including Spring 2029.

Out-of-State Grant

Eligibility Requirements

 

UCM Bound Out-of-State map

  • Regularly-admitted (not on academic probation) undergraduate students whose permanent legal residence is located in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming AND is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Recipients of the UCM Out-of-State Grant may not also receive the Second Generation Grant, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.
  • A credit equal to the non-resident portion of tuition fees will appear on the UCM account of UCM Out-of-State Grant recipients.

  • Must provide proof of PTK membership
  • Regularly-admitted to UCM
  • Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
  • Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2025 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
  • At least 24 earned college level credit hours for all classes completed prior to admission.
  • Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.5 or higher on all post-high school, college level classes completed prior to admission.
Please Note: Final Scholarship awards are based on the student's cumulative GPA (from the completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours) following the Spring 2025 semester for Fall 2025 admits. The UCM Admissions Office must receive final official transcripts before students can be fully awarded a scholarship and have it paid on their University account. If transferring to UCM for the Fall 2025, transcripts including all grades earned through Spring 2025 must be on file with the UCM Admissions Office no later than August 31, 2025.

Renewability

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

  • Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
  • Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
  • Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25 upon completion of each academic year.

  • Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2021 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
  • At least 24 earned college level credit hours for all classes completed prior to admission
  • Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher on all college level classes completed prior to admission.
Please Note: Final Scholarship awards are based on the student's cumulative GPA (from the completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours) following the Spring 2025 semester for Fall 2025 admits. The UCM Admissions Office must receive final official transcripts before students can be fully awarded a scholarship and have it paid on their University account.   • Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 2.50 upon completion of each academic year.

  • Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.30 - 3.49 on all college level classes completed prior to admission.
Please Note: Final Scholarship awards are based on the student's cumulative GPA (from the completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours) following the Spring 2025 semester for Fall 2025 admits. The UCM Admissions Office must receive final official transcripts before students can be fully awarded a scholarship and have it paid on their University account. If transferring to UCM for the Fall 2025, transcripts including all grades earned through Spring 2025 must be on file with the UCM Admissions Office no later than August 31, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Regularly-admitted (not on academic probation) to UCM,
  • Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
  • Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
  • Non-resident of Missouri, and
    Child/grandchild or step-child/step-grandchild of an individual who earned a degree (bachelors, masters, education specialist, or cooperative doctorate) from University of Central Missouri.

Recipients of the Second Generation Grant for Transfers may not also benefit from the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.

A non-resident fee total will appear on the UCM account of Second Generation Grant for Transfers recipients. The Second Generation Grant for Transfers will cover up to $1000 per semester of the non-resident portion of tuition charges.

Renewability

The Second Generation Grant for Transfers may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

  • Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
  • Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
  • Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.0 upon completion of each academic year, and
  • Maintains legal residence status as a non-Missouri resident

Submitting Scholarship Checks to UCM

If you are the recipient of a scholarships sponsored by a civic organization, employer, church, etc., please instruct the sponsor to make the scholarship check payable to University of Central Missouri and forward it to:

If the sponsor provides you with the scholarship check:

  1. Endorse the check if it is made payable to you and UCM.  If it is made to you only, please see below.
  2. Attach the check to a photocopy of the award letter and any supporting documents.
  3. Bring the check and photocopy documentation to Freshman Orientation and Enrollment or mail/deliver them to the Student Financial Services Office.

***If the scholarship check is made payable only to you, we suggest you deposit the check into your personal account and use those funds for UCM expenses (tuition, books, etc.)  We cannot apply these checks to your student account directly, so please do not mail these checks to us.

When we receive your scholarship check, we will credit your UCM student account. The amount of the scholarship check will be divided evenly between the Fall and Spring semesters unless otherwise instructed in writing by the scholarship sponsor.

If the scholarship sponsor requests verification of your enrollment at UCM:

1. Provide the scholarship sponsor with a copy of your class schedule which you can print from MyCentral after you attend Freshman Orientation and Enrollment.

OR

2. If the sponsor cannot accept a copy of your class schedule, you can request an enrollment verification certificate by calling the UCM Office of the Registrar at (660) 543-4900, option 3 (not option 2) after you attend Freshman Orientation and Enrollment.
