Transfer Scholarships

Value: $1000 per semester

Eligibility: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Regularly-admitted to UCM
• Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2021 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• At least 24 earned post-high school, college level credit hours for all classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.
• Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher on all post-high school, college level classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or 
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.

Please Note: Final Scholarship awards are based on the student's cumulative GPA (from the completion of a minimum of 24 post-high school college-level credit hours) following the Spring 2022 semester for Fall 2022 admits. The UCM Admissions Office must receive final official transcripts before students can be fully awarded a scholarship and have it paid on their University account. If transferring to UCM for the Fall 2022, transcripts including all grades earned through Spring 2022 must be on file with the UCM Admissions Office no later than August 31, 2022.

Renewability: The President's Distinguished Scholarship may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

• Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
• Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
• Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25 upon completion of each academic year.

 

Value: $750 per semester

Eligibility: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Regularly-admitted to UCM
• Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2022 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• At least 24 earned post-high school, college level credit hours for all classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.
• Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.30 - 3.49 on all post-high school, college level classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or 
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.

Eligibility: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Regularly-admitted to UCM
• Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2022 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• At least 24 earned post-high school, college level credit hours for all classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.
• Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.0 - 3.29 on all post-high school, college level classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or 
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.

• Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
• Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
• Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.0 upon completion of each academic year.

Value: $750 per semester

Eligibility: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Must provide proof of PTK membership
• Regularly-admitted to UCM
• Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student in the Fall 2022 semesters to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• At least 24 earned post-high school, college level credit hours for all classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.
• Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.5 or higher on all post-high school, college level classes completed through the:
  >Spring 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Fall 2022 semester, or 
  >Fall 2022 semester if transferring to UCM the Spring 2023 semester.

Renewability: The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

• Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
• Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
• Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25 upon completion of each academic year.

Value: At the University of Central Missouri, non-Missouri residents are charged the in-state tuition rate plus a non-resident fee. The Midwest Student Exchange Program will provide 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees of qualifying students. Students are responsible for the remaining 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees plus the in-state tuition rate.

Eligibility Criteria for Transfer Students: To be considered for participation in University of Central Missouri's Midwest Student Exchange Program (and pay 150% of University of Central Missouri's regular resident tuition, plus all required fees), students must be legal residents of one of the participating states (Maintains legal residency in Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio or Wisconsin).  Residents from Kansas and Nebraska will already receive a benefit through the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, which allows students to pay the "in-state" tuition for students attending classes at the main campus in Warrensburg.

Criteria for transfer students:

• Regularly-admitted to UCM by March 1,
• U.S. Citizen or permanent resident,
• Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher on all post-high school, college-level classes completed through the:
  • Fall semester if transferring to UCM for the Spring semester, or
  • Spring semester if transferring to UCM for the Fall semester
• Transfer students must have earned a cumulative transfer grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Funding received from this program cannot be combined with non-resident programs, which cover non-resident fees.

The total number of Midwest Student Exchange Program participants is limited to 100. Current recipients receive priority consideration.

Recipients of the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, Second Generation Grant for Transfers, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees may not also benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program.

Renewability for Transfer Students: Transfer students may benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

• Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
• Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
• Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25 upon completion of each academic year.

Value: Covers up to $1000 per semester of non-resident fees

Eligibility Criteria for Transfer Students: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Regularly-admitted (not on academic probation) to UCM,
• Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM [Credit received from UCM as a non-degree seeking student (visiting high school, visiting college, dual admission, dual credit) will not disqualify one from consideration.],
• Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree,
• Non-resident of Missouri, and
• Child/grandchild or step-child/step-grandchild of an individual who earned a degree (bachelors, masters, education specialist, or cooperative doctorate) from University of Central Missouri. 

Recipients of the Second Generation Grant for Transfers may not also benefit from the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.

A non-resident fee total will appear on the UCM account of Second Generation Grant for Transfers recipients. The Second Generation Grant for Transfers will cover up to $1000 per semester of the non-resident portion of tuition charges.

Renewability for Transfer Students: The Second Generation Grant for Transfers may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:

• Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student (12 or more undergraduate credit hours) each semester, and
• Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
• Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.0 upon completion of each academic year, and
• Maintains legal residence status as a non-Missouri resident

 

Value: 100 % of non-resident fees

Eligibility: Regularly-admitted (not on academic probation) undergraduate students whose permanent legal residence is located in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas or Wyoming AND is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Recipients of the UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship may not also receive the Second Generation Grant, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.

A credit equal to the non-resident portion of tuition fees will appear on the UCM account of UCM Bound Out-of-State Scholarship recipients.

Renewability: Automatically renewed for students who maintain legal residence in one of the following states and aren't recipients of other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees: Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee.

Eligibility: To be considered, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Be an incoming first-year undergraduate student or new transfer student with an associate degree entering Fall 2023 and beyond.
• Be a Missouri resident, and Access Missouri Grant-eligible*.
• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
• File FAFSA on or before Feb. 1.
• Be Federal Pell Grant eligible.
• Maintain full-time (12 hours) enrollment each semester.
• Maintain good academic standing.

Students who have all tuition and general fees covered through Pell, Access Missouri or other traditional institutional / external scholarships will not receive the Mule Grant.

*Both the student and parent on the FAFSA must be Missouri residents  to be eligible for the Access Missouri Grant.
