Military Benefits

Benefits for Veterans

UCM is proud to offer a credit equal to the non-resident portion of tuition fees for all active duty and military veterans. Additionally, UCM's Military Tuition Package applies to those who are using military tuition assistance or the G.I. Bill to fund their education. The tuition package applies to members of all five service branches, including reservists, who are seeking a degree.

Benefits of the Military Tuition Package include:

  • Exemption from the per credit hour mandatory general student fee
  • Exemption from the application for admission fee*
  • Exemption from the new student fee
  • Exemption from the parking permit fee

Eligibility applies to all honorably discharged, degree or certificate seeking, military veterans from all branches of the U.S. military. Eligibility also includes service in the National Guard or Reserve. This benefit applies only to on-campus courses, not those delivered online through through the Office of Online and Learning Engagement.

To verify eligibility, individuals must provide UCM the appropriate military documentation via their Department of Defense DD Form 214 "Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty", issued upon a military service member's retirement, separation or discharge from active-duty military.

Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria must complete the Veterans Certification Request Form (print) or fill out online on MyCentral each semester to begin the eligibility verification process with the VA Certifying Official. Download State Tuition Assistance Form

*Payment of the application fee will be required, but will be refunded to the student account following the application approval, enrollment and eligibility verification process.
