He is a litigation, trial, and appellate attorney who has personally appeared in 45 different courthouses and led cases in 11 different states. He has won appeals in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, and the Eighth Circuit. He has first-chair jury trial experience and serves clients at the appellate level in traditional appeals, extraordinary writs, and amicus briefs. Chad's practice focuses on advising religious organizations, private schools, and their leaders across the country. He also has significant tort and commercial litigation experience, including environmental, nuisance, product liability, wrongful death, negligence, premises liability, breach of contract, breach of warranty, and construction disputes.

Prior to law school, Chad was a marketing and public relations professional. In 2001, he was a crisis communications manager for a national market research firm and fielded calls from the New York Times after the firm's office, located in the World Trade Center, was evacuated. He also developed all public relations, marketing and advertising campaigns as the marketing director for a regional bank in Missouri.

Chad developed and teaches the Public Relations and Promotional Law course at the University of Central Missouri, regularly drawing on his marketing and communications background to supplement student learning.
