KMOS-TV Announces Feb. 6 Change to Daytime Schedule, Jan. 26 Preview of 'Work It Out Wombats!' Kids Program

On Monday, Feb. 6 KMOS-TV, the University of Central Missouri’s public television station, will move the beginning of its daytime ‘general audience’ programming from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will allow PBS Kids programming to run concurrently from 5 a.m. through 1 p.m., creating a better viewing experience for young viewers. In addition, KMOS will premiere a new series for children ages 3-6 designed to introduce kids to thinking concepts meant to help in solving everyday problems, and to express themselves clearly. “Work It Out Wombats!” will air weekdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 6.

KMOS PBS Named Finalist for NETA Public Media Awards

KMOS PBS, the University of Central Missouri’s public television station, has been named a finalist in two categories of the National Education Telecommunications Association (NETA) Public Media Awards program planned for Jan. 25, 2022. The KMOS PBS initiative titled “The Story of Us: A KMOS American Portrait Special” was named a finalist in the category of Content: Cultural Documentary and in the category of Marketing/Communications: Integrated Media Campaign.

Study Shows Public Trusts PBS-Member Stations, Values Impact on Children

From its locally produced programs to engagement with K-12 students and educators across the region, KMOS shares with other PBS-member stations in a #1 rating in public trust among nationally known institutions. The same study scored PBS above the public courts of law, in second place for public trust, touted PBS’s positive impact on the education of the nation’s children, and also confirmed that people consider PBS “an excellent use of tax dollars by the American public.”
