'Missouri and the Great War' Traveling Exhibit Comes to Warrensburg

Beginning March 1 and running through May 7, Warrensburg residents and University of Central Missouri students will have the opportunity to explore Missouri’s vital role in World War I in a traveling exhibit. Endorsed by the Missouri Bicentennial, the exhibit will feature stories, images, and artifacts from museums, libraries, archives and private collections across the state.

The University of Central Missouri Bands invites the campus community and the general public to attend its first concert performance of the Spring 2021 semester at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in Hendricks Hall. This free concert was prepared over the course of the semester with careful COVID-19 mitigations in place for the safety of all of those who attend.

Talking Mules Capture State Championship in Speech and Debate

Bringing recognition to the University of Central Missouri through their excellent performance, the Talking Mules Speech and Debate Team won the Missouri Association of Forensics Activities State Championship Tournament during the weekend of Feb. 12-13. The team placed first in the Overall Sweepstakes Category to capture the State Championship title. Team members also claimed several individual state championships at the tournament.

“We Are UCM: 150 Years of Service” not only recognized the University of Central Missouri’s long standing tradition of service to others, but it also led to $880 in monetary donations to help Warrensburg Big Brothers Big Sisters and generated 4,000 pounds of food for the Campus Cupboard and the Warrensburg Food Pantry.

University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance will present a free virtual production of the play “Sucia: A Cinderella Story for the Real World ” by Nicole Jost. The production will be available to view live online on the UCM Theatre and Dance YouTube channel at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb.19 and Saturday, Feb. 20. The play is recommended for all audiences and virtual doors open at 7:15 p.m.
