A classic family-friendly tale comes to life as the University of Central Missouri’s Theatre and Dance and Music programs present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” in the James L. Highlander Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 12.

“The Great Air Race: Glory, Tragedy and the Dawn of American Aviation,” is a recent book by journalist and amateur pilot John Lancaster about America’s famous 1919 transcontinental air race. The story of that race has inspired a group of University of Central Missouri aviation students and their faculty advisor to develop a virtual re-creation of the groundbreaking, cross-country flight that captured the world’s attention over 100 years ago. The virtual re-creation is intended to bring renewed awareness to this piece of trailblazing American history while also raising funds to support student activities.

Her powerful story and example is an inspiration to others dealing with personal struggles to manage mental health issues such as depression. She will talk about her role as an emotional health activist and an athlete when she makes a free, public presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 in Hendricks Hall at the University of Central Missouri.
