UCM Theatre and Dance Presents 'With Laughs' Student-directed One-act Productions

Enjoy an evening of entertainment as University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance presents “With Laughs” featuring four student-directed one-act plays. Performances include “A Timely Maneuver” by Emmett Loverde, “Sure Thing” by David Ives, “Jimmy The Antichrist” by Keith J. Powell, and “Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” by Don Zolidis. These shows will be performed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-16. Doors open at 7 p.m. and curtain is at 7:30 p.m.

With plans to implement new technology to create more efficient, cost-effective parking lot patrol and management, the University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety has obtained a new vehicle well equipped to assist in this effort. A step toward the future, Public Safety this summer purchased a hybrid 2023 Ford Maverick pickup with digital license plate reading capabilities that will be ready for deployment beginning Sept. 1.

UCM Partners to Bring National Endowment for Humanities Chair to Missouri for Historic Speech

Consistent with its role in providing educational programs and opportunities that promote history and culture, the University of Central Missouri College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is co-sponsoring the first visit to Missouri by the Chair of the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH). The history-making keynote speech by NEH Chair Shelly C. Lowe will be presented at Maple Woods Community College, 2601 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 as part of a tour giving her an opportunity to learn more about Missouri’s cultural assets and humanities offerings.

Approval of UCM Employee Health, Dental Insurance Renewal, Noland Football Office Upgrades Among Board of Governors Recent Actions

University of Central Missouri employee health and dental insurance renewal for 2024, renovation of the Terry Noland Football Offices, and renewal of KMOS-TV Public Broadcasting Systems (PB) dues were approved by the Board of Governors when it met in its Aug. 17 plenary session. These actions took place shortly after the board began its meeting with the swearing in of its new student board member and recognition of newly named emeriti faculty and staff members.
