While Moon Knight first appeared in a comic book in 1975, this character may not be on the tip of the tongue in comparison to superheroes like Captain America, Spider-Man and many others who went from the printed page to the big screen. With help from a production team that includes University of Central Missouri graduate Grant Curtis, a new spotlight is shining on this unique character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

UCM Celebrates 2022 Spring Commencement May 6-7

More than 1,860 University of Central Missouri graduate and undergraduate students who will meet their degree requirements this spring or during the summer are eligible to walk in Spring 2022 Commencement exercises planned for Friday and Saturday, May 6-7 in the Multipurpose Building Arena. Five ceremonies will be conducted throughout the weekend.

UCM Students Grab Third Place in World's Largest Student-run Game Jam

Combining creativity with technology, an entry by four University of Central Missouri students finished in third place for Best Overall Game at Chillennium 2022, considered the world’s largest student-run game jam. UCM was one of 32 teams that took part in this premier video game development competition at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, April 1-3.

UCM Board Acts on FY23 Budget, Health Care Coverage, Building Renovations

When the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors met on April 21, it approved several action items on the agenda that included the award of a contract for partial renovation of the W.C. Morris Science Building, the purchase of a new flight simulator for jet pilot training, and the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2023 operating budget. It also approved a recommendation to continue employee medical coverage with its current provider, effective for the year beginning Jan. 1, 2023.

UCM Criminal Justice Team Extends Consecutive National Championships to 19

Continuing its winning tradition, students and faculty members in the University of Central Missouri’s Gamma Epsilon Delta chapter of the Lambda Alpha Epsilon American Criminal Justice Association recently captured their 19th consecutive Sweepstakes Trophy in competition against some of the nation’s best collegiate criminal justice teams. Individuals who contributed to this history-making achievement were honored in a reception this week at UCM.

Talking Mules Capture IPDA Championship While Speech and Debate Coach Honored Among First Inductees to Association's Hall of Fame

While two members of the University of Central Missouri’s Talking Mules speech and debate team contributed to honors that included a national championship, the exceptional work of their coach over many years in his field led to Hall of Fame recognition during the recent International Public Debate Association’s National Championship Tournament and Convention. The four-day event, April 8-11, was hosted by Abilene Christian University, and included nearly 350 debate competitors representing 45 different public and private colleges and universities across the nation.
