The Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity (CMI) at the University of Central Missouri works to create a campus atmosphere where people of all backgrounds, identities and perspectives feel welcome, secure and included. The Center helps connect underrepresented students to the resources, organizations and student support services they need to thrive—as UCM students and future professionals.
The CMI was created through the requests and activism of UCM students, and opened in the fall of 2016. Located on the third floor of the Elliott Student Union, the CMI provides space for individuals, student organizations, such as Multicultural Student Outreach, and for campus-wide programs and events. The CMI focuses on services for: Students of Color, LGBTQIA Students, Military-Veteran Students, First Generation Students, Historically Underrepresented Minority Students, and Students with Disabilities.
How to be a Trans Positive Ally
The mission of the Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity at the University of Central Missouri is to provide services, support, and resources that educate the campus community on embracing diversity and making ALL people feel welcome regardless of race, culture, class, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Our emphasis will be on cultivating the ideas, enhancing the experiences, and perpetuating the success of underrepresented populations throughout their collegiate careers and beyond.
