The UCM Career and Life Design Center and Human Resources partner together to create events for a week-long celebration on the 2nd full week of April, to recognize the campus student employees. This is an occasion devoted to our hard-working, dedicated students that serve the departments of the University of Central Missouri.
1st Place - Grace Hoffman
Grace works for the Career and Life Design Center. She received a $500 award sponsored by Murdock Banner.
2nd Place - Bethany Spitzmiller
Bethany works for the Communication Department. She received a $250 award sponsored by McConnell & Associates.
3rd Place - Leslie Perlera - Galvan
Leslie works for the School of Technology - Fashion . She received a $100 award sponsored by Northwestern Mutual.

Monday
Student employees are encouraged to stop by the Office of Human Resources (Administration,
100) to enjoy a free coffee and breakfast bar from 8:30am - 11:00am. Student employees
received an email with an RSVP link as well as a ticket. The student must have the
physical ticket present to participate in this event.
Tuesday
Be on the lookout on UCM social media platforms for a word from Dr. Best!
Wednesday
Department Day - Departments, please find a way to celebrate your student workers
for all their hard work and dedication to your department.
Thursday
UCM's top Student Employees of the Year will be notified that they have made the top
rounds of the process.
Friday
By invite only - Student Employee of the Year Recognition Banquet.
Each year, the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) declares a full week in April to be National Student Employment Week.
Human Resources at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) is a member of NSEA. Here at UCM, over 1,000 students are employed by the university, playing a key role in our educational and operational excellence.
Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. At the same time, they develop important skills and experience that will assist them in their future careers.
The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college.
To be considered for this award, students must have been employed a minimum of three
months full time or six months part-time. This may include students working off campus
in community service or tutoring programs.

Notifications of campus winners are due to the Regional SEOTY Coordinators. |

Regional SEOTY Coordinators submit the regional winners to the NSEA VP of Administrative Services. |

National Student Employee of the Year is selected and winner's school is notified by the NSEA President. |
