The University of Central Missouri's Human Resources Office has created events for a week-long celebration on the 2nd full week of April, April 10th - 14th to recognize the campus student employees. This is an occasion devoted to our hard-working, dedicated students that serve the departments of the University of Central Missouri.
1st Place - Sydney Schwartz
Sydney works for the Career and Life Design Center. She received a $500 award sponsored by American Electric Cooperative, Inc.
2nd Place - Grace Hagood
Grace works for the Advising Center. She received a $250 award sponsored by McConnell & Associates.
3rd Place - Jace Uchtman
Jace works for the Marketing & Communications Department. He received a $100 award sponsored by the Missouri Division of Social Services.

Student employees are encouraged to stop by the Office of Human Resources (Administration,
100) to enjoy a free coffee and breakfast bar from 8:30am - 11:00am. Student employees
will receive an email with an RSVP link as well as a ticket. The student must have
the physical ticket present to participate in this event.
The Student Employee of the Year Recognition Banquet will be held on Monday, April 10th from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. This event is by invite only.

Each year, the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) declares a full week in April to be National Student Employment Week.
Human Resources at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) is a member of NSEA. Here at UCM, over 1,000 students are employed by the university, playing a key role in our educational and operational excellence.
Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. At the same time, they develop important skills and experience that will assist them in their future careers.
The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college.
The criteria to be eligible to be nominated for SEOTY:

Regional Coordinators distribute announcement and application materials to their members and NSEA members in their region. |
February 8 |
UCM SEOTY nominations are due to the Human Resources by February 8th, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. |
February 17 |
All nominations are provided to the nomination committee. The nomination committee rubrics are due to Human Resources by February 17th at 5:00pm |

The top three employees evaluated from the nomination committee will then move onto the interview committee to again be evaluated to determine UCM's first, second. and third place winners. |
March 1 |
UCM's first place winner is submitted to MASEA by March 1, 2023. |

National Student Employee of the Year is selected and winner's school is notified by the NSEA President. |
April 10 - 14 |
National Student Employment Week observed April 10th - 14th. National SEOTY winner announced and runner-up finalists notified. National SEOTY award is presented at winner's campus. |
