This summer, the University of Central Missouri is pleased to present the Second annual Junior Mule Experience. Your student will have the opportunity to take classes on a college campus, with curriculum specifically designed for your students’ age range. We have designed classes that will teach your Junior Mule both academic skills as well as important life skills. Junior Mule is intended for students enrolled in 1st through 5th grade for the 18-19 school year. Where Does Your Food Come From?
In this course, students will learn about the basic methods of food production including fruit and vegetable production and farm and animal livestock production. This course will help students understand how farmers provide food for our community.
The Stories of the Constellations
Students will learn the name of the constellations, stars, the moon's craters and seas, the planets and their moons, and the stories behind their names. Who knows, you may even see a few water propelled rockets go by!
Making Books and Comics
Students will learn to make paper, assemble and bind books, print and share images, and write and illustrate a story or comic book.
Come and join the fun as a Mini-Mixer! A kitchen adventure awaits at the Out the Oven Baking Class. Getting messy is part of the fun as we bake homemade bread, scrumptious cookies, colorful cake pops, and fresh oven pizza. Along with daily take home creations, Junior Mules will have a hands on experience while learning the basic principles when working with dough and batter.
This course is designed to teach students about basic programming and robotic science in a fun and inventive way.
