How to Avoid Phishing Attempts
Phishing is a scam that uses social engineering to trick a person into revealing personal or confidential information the scammer can use illicitly. Phishing attacks are typically carried out using email or a malicious web site posing as a trusted person or well-known organization.
In light of some of the recent phishing campaigns targeted at the University of Central Missouri, the Office of Technology is providing you with Tips to Avoiding Phishing Attacks.
Office 365: Available at UCM
Because UCM currently owns an enterprise license for Microsoft Office, we are able to offer the subscription-based Office 365 products at no cost to UCM students, faculty, and staff. That means free access to desktop and web versions of MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Visit our Office 365 page for the details!

Clear Your Browser History
If you are having trouble accessing any part of a web-based application at UCM, the first thing to do is to clear your brower's history/caches/cookies. For help, try our How to Clear Your Browser page, or contact the Technology Support Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or 660.543.4357.
Try a Different Browser
If you are having trouble with MyCentral or Blackboard, try opening them in a different web browser.
