UCM & LEGO® Education Partner to Produce Tomorrow's Innovators and Problem Solvers
The University of Central Missouri and LEGO® Education team together to produce tomorrow's innovators and problem solvers. In the summers of 2012 and 2015, teachers from mutiple states attended workshops at UCM's Summit Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri, to learn the skills necessary to lead hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) training in the classroom.
Fourteen Veterans on their Way to Launching their Businesses
An afflilate of Kauffman FastTrac®, the University of Central Missouri's Professional Development Group in collaboration with the Small Business and Technology Development Center, launched FastTrac® NewVenture training in October of 2013 for aspiring veteran entrepreneurs. Under the tutelage of Joseph Mullins (Lead Facilitator), Darrell Brammer (Coach) and Shawn Smith (Program Director and Coach), fourteen veterans graduated, creating their plans and the framework necessary to successfully start their individual companies.
The "GREAT" Project
The University of Central Missouri‘s National Energy Retrofit Institute and the Full Employment Council teamed up to create the Green Retrofit Employment and Training or GREAT Program. During the program, 400 participants gain education on energy retrofitting older homes and buildings to make them run more efficiently, both energy and cost wise.
