UCM Earns 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School Designation
The University of Central Missouri’s commitment to serving active duty military members and veterans is being recognized. Today, UCM announced that it has earned the 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School designation.

Talking Mules Capture State Championship in Speech and Debate
Bringing recognition to the University of Central Missouri through their excellent performance, the Talking Mules Speech and Debate Team won the Missouri Association of Forensics Activities State Championship Tournament during the weekend of Feb. 12-13. The team placed first in the Overall Sweepstakes Category to capture the State Championship title. Team members also claimed several individual state championships at the tournament.

Theatre and Dance faculty and staff members at the University of Central Missouri attended the virtual Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Jan. 16-23, and were recognized for excellence in multiple areas.

UCM Alumnus, Author, Journalist Toriano Porter Will Speak at MLK Freedom Scholarship Dinner Jan. 21
Toriano Porter, an author, journalist and public speaker who studied journalism and creative writing at the University of Central Missouri, will return to his alma mater Tuesday, Jan. 21, to present the keynote remarks at the 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Freedom Scholarship Dinner. The dinner is a highlight of a celebration that includes activities in honor of King.

UCM is listed as 22nd on Affordable Schools’ online feature, “30 Best Affordable Bachelor’s in Aviation Management and Operations 2020.” With more information available at affordableschools.net, these rankings include some of the most prestigious aviation programs in the nation.

Duncans Make It Count in Son's Honor by Helping UCM Veterans
Dale and Megan Duncan recently presented a $7,500 gift to UCM from the Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation. The Duncans stopped by the Military and Veterans Success Center in early December to present the check to UCM President Roger Best, with members of Military and Veteran Services and the UCM Alumni Foundation also in attendance.
