Attend a Career Event

Encourage Your Students to Attend Career Events

The Career and Life Design Center hosts several opportunities throughout the year for students to connect with employers in the areas of business, industry, government, education and healthcare. During the 2018-19 academic year, nearly 750 employers visited our campus to recruit our students!

Career events are a great opportunity for your students to network with employers from various industries as well as graduate and professional schools. As UCM faculty and staff, feel free to also attend these events to learn about employers recruiting UCM students and the opportunities available. 

Construction, Design & Drafting, Engineering & Safety Fair

The UCM Fall 2022 Construction, Design & Drafting, Engineering, and Safety Fair is an ideal time for your students  to meet professionals in your field, graduate and professional schools, and explore a multitude of career opportunities.

Students are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide an outlook on the job market as well as a chance to network. Juniors and Seniors can inquire about full-time or internship opportunities. Don’t forget to have your students bring several copies of their resume! Professional attire is encouraged. If you need professional clothing visit our Walk-In Studio Experience (W.I.S.E.) Monday-Thursday 12:30-4:30 p.m. in Ward Edwards 1200.

Boot Up Your Career, Computing Networking Event

The UCM Boot Up Your Career, Computing Networking Event is an ideal time for your students  to meet professionals in the IT field, and explore a multitude of career opportunities.

 All computer-related majors are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide an outlook on the job market as well as a chance to network. Juniors, Seniors, and Masters's students can inquire about full-time or internship opportunities. Don’t forget to have your students bring several copies of their resume! Professional attire is encouraged. If you need professional clothing visit our Walk-In Studio Experience (W.I.S.E.) The Education Networking Event is being held in conjunction with the UCM mid-term student-teacher meeting but is open to all education-related majors. This event is an ideal time for your students to be curious, ask questions, meet professionals in the field, and for them learn more about school districts and their cultures. Students are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide an outlook on the job market as well as a chance to network.  Don’t forget to have your students bring several copies of their resume! Professional attire is encouraged. This is the perfect time to explore a multitude of potential internship and career opportunities or just learn more about various career paths.

All Majors Virtual Job & Internship Fair

The Fall 2022 Virtual Job & Internship Fair is an ideal time for your students to meet professionals in their field, graduate and professional schools, and explore a multitude of career opportunities.

 To register, students will need to sign up for sessions, however, sessions will not be available until the employer has set them up. Students will need to check in often to sign-up for employer sessions as they become available.
  • Click the Available Sessions tab in the upper-left of the page, below the fair title and date/time.
  • Update your privacy setting to "Community" this will allow you to participate in all fair sessions
  • When you locate an employer that you'd like to sign up for a session with, look for the session information to appear below the employer name and description.
  • Click on the name of the session you'd like to sign up for.
  • Click on RSVPed to see more information about the session or cancel your reservation.
