Encourage Your Students to Attend Career Events
The Career and Life Design Center hosts several opportunities throughout the year
for students to connect with employers in the areas of business, industry, government,
education and healthcare. During the 2022-23 academic year, nearly 525 employers visited
our campus to recruit our students!
Career events are a great opportunity for your students to network with employers
from various industries as well as graduate and professional schools. As UCM faculty
and staff, feel free to also attend these events to learn about employers recruiting
UCM students and the opportunities available.
UCM Spring 2024 Jobs & Internships Fair
The UCM Spring 2024 Jobs & Internships Fair is an ideal time for you to explore a multitude of job and internship opportunities from various industries and professional schools. Companies attending this fair will be looking for UCM students to fill open internship and full-time positions.
Students are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide a chance to networking, learn how a career fair works or volunteer to help. Juniors and Seniors can inquire about full-time post graduate jobs or summer internship opportunities from various industries.
Be sure to upload your resume into Handshake and make it visible to employers. It will also be beneficial to download the Handshake app on your phone prior to the fair. By doing this you will be able to scan the employer's QR code at their table. Following the fair you will receive a list of all of the companies you spoke with at the fair and they will automatically receive a copy of your resume. If you need assistance with your resume or the Handshake platform you can visit the Career and Life Design Center W.I.S.E. Monday - Thursday 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. or Friday 9:00 a.m. - Noon. The Professional Clothing Studio and Headshot Central will also be available during those hours. By taking advantage of our services you will be ready to make your best impression.
We also advise bringing several copies of your resume and professional dress is encouraged.
UCM Spring 2024 Education Networking & Interviewing Day
The Education Networking and Interviewing Day is being held in conjunction with the UCM mid-term student-teacher meeting and is open to all education-related majors. This event is an ideal time for you to be curious, ask questions, meet professionals in your field, and learn more about school districts and their cultures.
Students are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide an outlook on the job market as well as a chance to network and interview for current positions with districts.
If you would like to prepare for the event and have your resume reviewed, practice your interviewing skills, or if you need professional clothing stop by our Walk-In Studio Experience (W.I.S.E.) Monday-Thursday 12:30-4:30 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. - Noon in Ward Edwards 1200.

The UCM Spring 2024 Nursing Hiring Fair is an ideal time for you to meet professionals in the Nursing and Healthcare field, graduate and professional schools, and explore a multitude of career opportunities.
All Nursing majors are encouraged to attend, regardless of class status. Underclassmen will find this event to be beneficial as it will provide an outlook on the job market as well as a chance to network. Juniors and Seniors can inquire about full-time or clinical opportunities. Don’t forget to bring several copies of your resume! Professional attire is encouraged. If you need professional clothing visit our Professional Clothing Studio located in the Ward Edwards Building in room 2200.

The UCM -Spring 2024 All Majors Virtual Job & Internship Fair is an ideal time for you to meet professionals in your field, graduate and professional schools, and explore a multitude of career opportunities.
To register, you will need to sign up for sessions, however, sessions will not be available until the employer has set them up. You will need to check in often to sign-up for employer sessions as they become available.
- Click the Available Sessions tab in the upper-left of the page, below the fair title and date/time.
- Update your privacy setting to "Community" This will allow you to participate in all fair sessions
- When you locate an employer that you'd like to sign up for a session with, look for
the session information to appear below the employer's name and description.
- Click on the name of the session you'd like to sign up for.
- Click on RSVPed to see more information about the session or cancel your reservation.
