About Us

The Counseling Center helps students with concerns affecting their lives and functioning. We provide a safe and respectful atmosphere for students of all gender identities/expressions, ages, races, cultures, abilities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and spiritual beliefs.


The Counseling Center is staffed by professionals who are experienced in responding to a variety of personal and social issues.

Jeanne Woon, Ph.D., Interim Director



-Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Licensed psychologist and certified group relations consultant.

-Enjoys working with students of all backgrounds on wide range of concerns. Offers counseling to help you learn to deepen understanding of yourself and others, build skills for coping with various challenges, and develop habits for positive mental health.

-Particular interest in relationships, cultural and diversity concerns, and group work. Experienced in working with stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.



-Lived in Singapore, Washington state, Denmark, and New York City before making Missouri home

-Is grateful for family, friends, and special people in her life.

-Appreciates the arts, academics, and athletics (Go Jennies and Mules!).

-Swims, reads, and practices tai chi.

Liz Cassidy, Ph.D.



-Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University

-Licensed psychologist in Missouri

-Generalist able to help with a range of concerns.

-Specific interests include eating and body image concerns, spirituality, and healthy coping.



-Loves summer, gardening, and a great novel.

-Enjoys spending time with family & friends.

-Likes to be outdoors, travel, & experience other cultures.


Adrianne Fuller-St. John, Psy.D.



-Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

-Licensed Psychologist in Missouri.

-Generalist, able to help with a range of concerns.

-Enjoys working with all students. Particular areas of interest include relationship counseling, working with non-traditional students, and interpersonal concerns.



-Enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pets.

-Loves to garden, bake, can, crochet, and read.

Candice Moran, Psy.D.



-Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

-Licensed Psychologist in Missouri.

-Generalist able to help with a range of concerns.

-Uses interpersonal, relational, and feminist approaches with special attention paid to cultural influences.

-Particular interest and expertise in working with LGBTQQIA (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual) persons and other aspects of human sexuality.



-Enjoys spending time with my husband, friends, family, and especially my nephew.

-Avid crafter who enjoys everything from jewelry making, knitting, sewing, refinishing furniture, scrapbooking, and many more.

-Animal lover whose house is run by 4 cats.

-Fan of creative reality competition shows (e.g. Face Off, Project Runway, Design Star, Top Chef, Heroes of Cosplay, etc...)



Ignacio "Alex" Barajas-Munoz, M.A.



-Ph.D. Candidate in Counseling Psychology from The University of Missouri-Kansas City

-Generalist, able to help with a range of concerns.

-Enjoys working with students from all backgrounds on a wide range of concerns.

-Particular areas of interest include multiculturalism and mindfulness meditation.

Jennifer Denne, Office Professional



-Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Missouri.

-Lived in Punta Arenas, Chile and experienced their culture and language.

-Serve as your first contact in the Counseling Center.



-Grew up in Washington State, moved to California, Germany, and finally to Missouri.

-Have a great time serving in the Children's Ministry at my local church.

-Hobbies include sewing, knitting, and general craftiness.
