Mentoring, Advocacy and Peer Support

The Office of Mentoring, Advocacy and Peer Support supports and inclusive student-centered environment at UCM by providing students with one-on-one academic, social and peer support. The MAPS office also offers Victim Advocates that will support survivors of sexual violence, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, or stalking by providing crisis intervention services, referrals, advocacy, and confidential reporting.

Counseling Center

This Counseling Center is committed to supporting Central Missouri’s mission by helping students reach their fullest potential. Their free services are designed to help students with concerns affecting their lives and are dedicated to providing a safe and respectful atmosphere for students. The Counseling Center is a place where those affected by sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking can receive confidential support, information and assistance.

University Health Center

The University Health Services provides mental, physical, and emotional health care and wellness services to students, faculty, and staff. The University Health Center promotes optimal well-being through education, health promotion and preventive health and counseling series. They also aim to decrease the negative impact of physical, mental and emotional illness on the student’s education through the delivery of quality primary care services.

Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil law that requires gender equality for men and women in every educational program that receives federal funding. Under Title IX, students, staff, faculty, and other employees all have the right to pursue education, including athletic programs, scholarships, and other activities, free from sex discrimination, including sexual violence and harassment. Under Title IX, victims of sexual violence have many options and resources can be provided to victims by the university.
