Civil Rights Activist, Author, Educator Angela Davis Makes Presentation at UCM April 5

As part of the University of Central Missouri’s efforts to promote conversations with distinguished visitors, UCM will host civil rights activist, author, and educator Angela Davis for a public presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, in Hendricks Hall. Her speech is open to all who are interested in attending, and there is no admission charge. The event is sponsored by the Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity.

College of Education Dean Receives Excellence in Governance Award March 22

In recognition of her outstanding public service and for her efforts to prepare Missouri educators, Ann McCoy, Ph.D., dean of the University of Central Missouri College of Education, will receive the highest honor presented by students. The UCM Student Government Association will recognize her publicly as the 2022 recipient of the James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the read and relaxation area, near the west entrance of the Kirkpatrick Library. The public is invited to attend this award presentation, which will be hosted by members of the SGA.

UCM Students Team Up With Powell Gardens for Experience Delirium March 24

At the same time Powell Gardens hosts the Orchid Delirium this month, a special evening tailored to young adults will come to fruition thanks to the efforts of a group of University of Central Missouri students in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. Tickets are available online for the Experience Delirium event that takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, March 24, at the Powell Gardens Visitors Center.

WARRENSBURG, MO – University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance presents “VOUCHer; Or, That PTA Play” by Benjamin Gonzales. The play is on the lighter side of a dark comedy and follows the comings and goings of a group of dedicated parents as they work to hold their dwindling PTA group together. The play performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday Feb. 24-26 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27. ASL Interpreters will be available at the Thursday, Feb. 24 show, and the Sunday matinee is pay-what-you-can. This play is for mature audiences only.
