The University of Central Missouri College of Education and UCM’s public television station KMOS-TV were honored by public media professionals with two awards for the creation and broadcast of 72 lessons designed to help families in preparing their elementary school children for the fall 2020 semester, and to make up for the school closures last spring.
January 28, 2021While red is one of the University of Central Missouri school colors, faculty, staff and students in the College of Education recently got an extra dose of this warm hue as faculty, staff and students purchased and wore T-shirts in support of Kappa Delta Pi education honor society’s efforts to assist the Campus Cupboard and to benefit the KDP freshman student mentoring program.
October 21, 2020For over a decade, Andrea (Andi) Dieckman has been a part of UCM as both an undergraduate and graduate student, a staff member for units across campus, and an adjunct instructor for three of the university’s four colleges. Her experiences as student, staff, and faculty have prepared her well for her appointment as Director and Certification Officer of the Office of Clinical Services and Certification in the College of Education.
September 22, 2020After an internal search, the College of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Matt Thomas will become the new chair for the School of Teaching and Learning. Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the role of school chair with more than 20 years of experience in the College of Education and nearly a decade of experience in K-12 teaching, administration, and consulting prior to joining UCM in 2000.
May 21, 2020For families seeking economical assistance in preparing their elementary school children for the fall semester, and to make up for the school closures of the spring semester, KMOS-TV and the University of Central Missouri will provide free on-air classes beginning June 1. KMOS Classroom: Summer School will be broadcast on KMOS channel 6.1 each Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and noon.
