Three Distinguished Alumni Honored for Achievement, Service Homecoming Weekend

Three University of Central Missouri graduates who have excelled in careers or service that include work in the United States Secret Service, U.S. Army, and business/education will be honored as Distinguished Alumni during the university’s 2016 Homecoming celebration. Award presentations will take place during the Distinguished Alumni Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 in Elliott Student Union 240.

Performing Arts Series Presents the U.S. Navy Commodores Jazz Ensemble

The University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series and the Department of Music will present the Commodores, the United States Navy Band’s jazz ensemble from Washington, D.C., in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Hendricks Hall on the UCM campus in Warrensburg.

A milestone in the construction of the new Summit Technology Academy/Missouri Innovation Campus was celebrated Thursday, Oct. 13, as officials from the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District and the University of Central Missouri gathered together for a Beam Topping Out Ceremony at the building site.

UCM Campus Cupboard Receives Harvesters Circle of Hope Partnership Award

The University of Central Missouri’s Campus Cupboard recently was recognized by Harvesters-The Community Food Network of Kansas City with the 2016 Circle of Hope Network Partnership-Missouri Pantry Award. Beth Rutt, UCM director of student activities, and Trish Smith, UCM graduate assistant and Campus Cupboard coordinator, accepted the award at the Sept. 22 awards luncheon in Kansas City.
