Recognizing a program that will help individuals prepare for jobs in an information-rich industry, OnlineMastersDegrees.org (OMD) recently named the University of Central Missouri among colleges and universities that offer the Best Masters in Library Science (MLS) Online Programs for 2023. In its recent online feature, OMD ranked UCM’s Master of Library Science #14 on its list of the top 40 institutions across the nation for pursuing the online MLS.

University of Central Missouri Interim Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Kathy Anderson announced Wednesday, March 1, that Doug Karleskint has resigned from his position as head men’s basketball coach. Karleskint recently completed his ninth season as Mules head coach.

The 55th Annual Citation Show will open March 13 at the University of Central Missouri Gallery of Art and Design’s main gallery. It is one of three art shows and a visiting artist’s lecture that are planned at the gallery during the same month.

Putting their marketing and sales knowledge and skills to test against students from across the United States, the University of Central Missouri Sales Team shined at the 2023 Virtual Redbird National Sales Competition, placing ninth among teams from 43 universities. This prestigious annual event was hosted by Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, and included 120 student participants.

Kirkpatrick Library will present a hybrid panel discussion on “The Changing Face of News,” 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the library’s active learning room, 1260. The panel is composed of three award-winning journalists.

The nationally recognized Missouri Innovation Campus program recently concluded recruitment for its 2023-27 MIC cohort, a group of talented sophomores from qualifying metro-area high schools. Students selected will attend the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District’s Summit Technology Academy for a half day during their junior year, returning to their home schools for the remainder of the day.

University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance and UCM Music present “Eurydice” at James L. Highlander Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23, 24 and 25, and during matinees at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 and 26. The afternoon production on Feb. 26 is Pay-What-You-Can (minimum $1) admission and on Feb. 23 there will be an ASL interpreter for the hearing-impaired.
