With roots that date back to 1958, the University of Central Missouri Honors College is celebrating a new milestone in its history with a change in location. The grand opening at the Achauer House, 314 S. Holden St., Warrensburg, is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, and all members of the university community and other interested individuals are invited to attend.

July 12, 2022The University of Central Missouri’s Department of Public Safety was recently recognized by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt as the recipient of a Community Partner Award. Public Safety was one of more than 650 Missouri entities, including law enforcement and hospitals, to receive this commendation for their vital assistance in completing the Phase II inventory of sexual assault kits with the state’s SAFE Kit Initiative.
July 08, 2022The Missouri Safety Center at the University of Central Missouri is pleased to announce its partnership with the National Law Enforcement Roadway Safety Program (NLERSP) and the Kansas City Police Department to provide no-cost officer safety training to law enforcement professionals at the Kansas City Police Department Regional Police Academy during the months of July and August, 2022. The NLERSP training will provide law enforcement executives, supervisors, trainers, and patrol officers with evidence-based strategies and tactics to improve officer safety during traffic stops, emergency response driving, all-weather driving, and roadway operations.
July 06, 2022In an effort to further understanding of the value of making individuals feel welcome, valued and included in higher education, University of Central Missouri President Roger Best recently participated in a panel discussion on “Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging in Advancement Work.” The panel, which also featured Dr. Susan B. Wilson, retired vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and UCM alumna Jessica Ramirez, ’99, vice president of advancement at Cleveland University-Kansas City, took place on June 23 at UMKC.
