Student Organization Recognition

UCM has over 185 recognized student organizations. Starting an organization is an easy process as well, and we encourage you do so if you’re interested.

Starting a Student Organization

To start a new student organization on campus, you must complete the Organization Registration Form available on Central Connect.

Reestablishing a Pre-existing Organization

If a student organization is not currently active on this campus, but has been in the past, please email osa@ucmo.edu to start the re-registration process.

Retaining Active Status

An organization must maintain the followng in order to remain recognized:

  • Must have at least 8 student members
  • Must have at least 1 advisor, UCM faculty or staff
  • Must have at least 2 registered officers
  • Must establish & maintain a constitution
  • Must complete the transition process each semester
  • Must attend all required training

Benefits of being a registered student organization with the Office of Student Activities include:

  • Funding
  • Use of facilities free of charge
  • Posting of fliers
  • Recognized on the website
  • Recruitment Opportunities at the Involvement Fair
