Middle East

Dr. Mike Makara began leading trips to the Middle East in 2015. He normally has over 20 students that take his class and participate in the faculty-led study abroad experience.  His last trip was to Jordan, Isreal, and the West Bank.  This trip focuses on the complex political situations, as well as touring places such as Petra, WadiRum, Juresalem, and Tel Aviv.  

Students in Jamaica


Dr. Delia Gillis leads students almost every semester on a faculty-led trip to Jamaica as part of the Africania Studies program. The course surveys the African Diaspora in general and Jamaican history and culture in particular.  A diversified leadership component and a service-learning project with the Treasure Beach Women's Group are also included in the study tour on site in Jamaica, West Indies.

South Korea

Dr. Cho led a study abroad tour to South Korea for students to learn about the criminal justice systems, focusing on police and corrections.  It was a great way for students to experience Korean culture and history.
