Missouri Girls State Includes Visit from Governor, Other State Elected Officials

Continuing a tradition that has taken place on the University of Central Missouri campus since 1998, high school girls from across the state will converge on UCM the week beginning Sunday, June 20, to participate in the American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State.

The University of Central Missouri and Lee’s Summit Velocity are hosting an Experience Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Studio Open House to showcase the university’s new Mixed Reality Studio, located at UCM’s Lee’s Summit campus. The free event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 17.

Graduates of UCM's 150-year Class Honored During Commencement May 7-9

As the University of Central Missouri celebrates its sesquicentennial, the Spring 2021 Commencement exercises the weekend of May 7-9 are a new milestone in the life of the university as well as its many new graduates. A total of 1,940 undergraduate and graduate students who are completing their degrees this spring or by this summer are eligible to participate in ceremonies that take place in the Multipurpose Building.

UCM Theatre and Dance Presents Free Virtual Theatre Production: 'Spotlight'

The virtual presentation of the production, “Spotlight” will be presented by University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance on its YouTube channel at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2; Friday, April 23, Saturday, April 24 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25. Virtual Doors open 15 minutes prior to start time, and no tickets or reservations are needed.

UCM's 150 Years of Education for Service Honored by Legislators

Adding a new highlight to the University of Central Missouri’s sesquicentennial celebration, Missouri legislators met with university members and honored UCM’s 150th year with House and Senate resolutions on April 7. A 12-member group that included UCM President Roger Best, members of the Board of Governors, administrative members, and students, represented the university for this special day in Jefferson City.

Missouri Bicentennial Quilt Coming to McClure Archives and University Museum

As it travels throughout the state in 2021, the Missouri Bicentennial Quilt will make a stop at the McClure Archives and University Museum at the University of Central Missouri. The quilt will be available for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 13-16, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17.
