UCM Esports Hosts Tournament, $1,500 Prize Pool Available to Competitors

WARRENSBURG, MO – UCM Esports, a competitive gaming team at the University of Central Missouri that continues to grow in popularity since its inception in 2019, will conduct a Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1. The tournament is being coordinated in cooperation with the United States Army National Guard and Central Missouri Intramurals and will feature a total prize pool of $1,500 for top participants.

Board Authorizes Health Insurance Renewal, Building Demolition, Upgrades

WARRENSBURG, MO – The renewal of employee health insurance and facility projects that relate to the Fraternity Complex, Nattinger-Bradshaw Hall, Wood Hall, and the W.C. Morris Science Building were approved by the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors when it met in plenary session Aug. 19.

UCM Welcomes WAFB 509th Commander to Campus

WARRENSBURG, MO – Continuing to build upon its relationship with the men and women who serve at Whiteman Air Force Base, the University of Central Missouri hosted a visit by Col. Daniel C. Diehl on Aug. 6. This was Col. Diehl’s first visit to UCM after officially taking the reins as commander of the 509th Bomb Wing during a ceremony June 16 at Whiteman AFB.

Central Missouri Police Academy Celebrates 50-Year Anniversary Aug. 19

WARRENSBURG, MO – While the University of Central Missouri celebrates its 150th year, another milestone is being achieved at UCM. The Central Missouri Police Academy (CMPA) will commemorate its 50th anniversary Thursday, Aug. 19, honoring the lives and work of former cadets while also providing a look at a new high-tech classroom made possible with funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
