Board of Governors Sets Room and Board Rates for 2022-2023 Academic Year

In its plenary session, March 24, the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors approved tuition, general fees, and room and board rates for the 2022-2023 academic year while also awarding a construction contract for a new wrestling room at the Multipurpose Building, made possible through private funding.

UCM Theatre and Dance and UCM Music Present Tony Award-Winning Musical 'Fun Home'

University of Central Missouri (UCM) Theatre and Dance and UCM Music present the Broadway smash hit and Tony Award-winning musical “Fun Home.” Based on the popular autobiographical graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, the musical performs at UCM’s Highlander Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 1-2; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3; and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 7-9. An ASL Interpreter will be provided for the performance on April 7. The Sunday matinee on April 3 is pay-what-you-can (minimum $1). As a content disclosure, those attending should be aware “Fun Home” contains strong language and mild adult themes.

MS in Nursing and Part-time MBA at UCM Recognized in U.S. News and World Report Rankings for 2023

A testament to quality leadership and faculty in two University of Central Missouri graduate programs, the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings released today included the Master of Science in Nursing and the part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA). Selections were partially based on factors that included high enrollment rates and high average test scores for UCM students.

In addition to recognizing academic leader Ann McCoy as the 2022 recipient of the annual James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award, the University of Central Missouri Student Government Association announced an SGA resolution, which has made possible a second honor for presentation alongside the Kirkpatrick Award. UCM emeriti member Walt Hicklin on March 22 became the first recipient of this new service award that has been established in his name.

UCM Marketing Students Finish High in National Collegiate Sales Competition

University of Central Missouri marketing students competed against some of the top students and teams in their academic discipline this month through the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) March 4-7. They represented the only team in the event from a Missouri public university. It was hosted by Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, and is considered the largest and most competitive sales competition in the nation.

Her speech is open to all who are interested in attending, and there is no admission charge. The event is sponsored by the Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity.

In recognition of her outstanding public service and for her efforts to prepare Missouri educators, Ann McCoy, Ph.D., dean of the University of Central Missouri College of Education, will receive the highest honor presented by students. The UCM Student Government Association will recognize her publicly as the 2022 recipient of the James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the read and relaxation area, near the west entrance of the Kirkpatrick Library. The public is invited to attend this award presentation, which will be hosted by members of the SGA.

UCM Students Team Up With Powell Gardens for Experience Delirium March 24

At the same time Powell Gardens hosts the Orchid Delirium this month, a special evening tailored to young adults will come to fruition thanks to the efforts of a group of University of Central Missouri students in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. Tickets are available online for the Experience Delirium event that takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, March 24, at the Powell Gardens Visitors Center.
