President Best Says UCM Outlook is "Mule Strong" with Successes That Include Enrollment Increase

WARRENSBURG, MO – Announcing that the University of Central Missouri was the only institution out of 47 colleges and universities from Missouri and our region to experience enrollment gains this fall across three segments - first-time freshmen, transfer and international - President Roger Best affirmed that the university has much to be proud of when he presented his 2021 State of the University Address. In his speech on Sept. 16 he called the institution “Mule Strong,” also announcing a salary increase for full-time employees, effective Jan. 1, 2022.

UCM Ranks 16th Among U.S. News & World Report's Top Midwest Institutions

For the third consecutive year, the University of Central Missouri maintained its spot at #16 as a top public institution in the Midwest region on the 2022 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings, and was also listed #31 among best colleges and universities for Veterans, #60 as a best value institution, and #74 among best regional universities in the Midwest.

UCM Esports Hosts Tournament, $1,500 Prize Pool Available to Competitors

WARRENSBURG, MO – UCM Esports, a competitive gaming team at the University of Central Missouri that continues to grow in popularity since its inception in 2019, will conduct a Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1. The tournament is being coordinated in cooperation with the United States Army National Guard and Central Missouri Intramurals and will feature a total prize pool of $1,500 for top participants.

Board Authorizes Health Insurance Renewal, Building Demolition, Upgrades

WARRENSBURG, MO – The renewal of employee health insurance and facility projects that relate to the Fraternity Complex, Nattinger-Bradshaw Hall, Wood Hall, and the W.C. Morris Science Building were approved by the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors when it met in plenary session Aug. 19.
