Award-winning "KMOS Classroom: Summer School" Broadcasts Begins June 2

Beginning at 8 a.m. June 1, the University of Central Missouri’s public television station, KMOS-TV, in partnership with UCM’s College of Education will provide three hours of programming focused on K-5 learning with the award-winning “KMOS Classroom: Summer School.”

Beginning March 24, and running through April, the University of Central Missouri’s public television station KMOS-TV will air and feature five unique programs designed to spark conversation and thought about aging. KMOS-TV is proud to partner with other producers to showcase programs aimed at debunking myths about aging, providing inspirational stories, and resources for all of us as we age.

UCM College of Education Receives Public Media Awards for 'KMOS Classroom: Summer School'

The University of Central Missouri College of Education and UCM’s public television station KMOS-TV were honored by public media professionals with two awards for the creation and broadcast of 72 lessons designed to help families in preparing their elementary school children for the fall 2020 semester, and to make up for the school closures last spring.

KMOS-TV to Air Locally Produced Special Highlighting Life in America and Central Missouri

At 9 p.m. CST Jan. 26, KMOS-TV, in cooperation with PBS, will premiere “The Story of Us: A KMOS American Portrait Special.” This half-hour documentary special will showcase inspiring stories about individuals living with disabilities from across central Missouri as part of the national crowdsourced storytelling project PBS American Portrait, the signature content initiative of PBS’s 50th anniversary.

KMOS-TV Awarded Grant to Develop, Promote PBS Docuseries "American Portrait - The Story of Us"

KMOS-TV applied for and has been awarded a $15,000 American Portrait grant to showcase a population that often goes under served and under seen. KMOS-TV has partnered with West-Central Independent Living Solutions (WILS) and Services for Independent Living (SIL) of Columbia to help gather user-generated content for this program by highlighting individuals with disabilities in central Missouri.

KMOS-TV Partners with West-Central Independent Living Solutions to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Signing of Americans with Disabilities Act

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, KMOS-TV will broadcast a series of inspirational documentary films that highlight and celebrate individuals who have overcome mental and/or physical challenges to achieve their goals. These films will air nightly at 5 p.m. beginning Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 on KMOS Emerge 6.3.
