For the 20th consecutive year, the University of Central Missouri's gamma Epsilon Delta chapter of the Lambda Alpha Epsilon American Criminal Justice Association (LAE-AMCA) has claimed the Sweepstakes Trophy in the Regional III competition. This is unprecedented in the history of the association. UCM will not go on to compete for its 19th consecutive national title.

Governors Amend Design-Build Contract Expanding Scope of Airport Project

In its plenary session Oct. 29, the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors voted to amend the design-build contract for construction of the new terminal and education building at Max B. Swisher Skyhaven Airport. This decision will expand the project which previously had a projected $2.8 million budget to one that will cost approximately $5.1 million, and will enable the facility to better serve community and student aviation needs.

The Actuarial Science and Statistics program at the University of Central Missouri has recently been ranked as one of the top 10 most affordable degree programs of its kind for 2022. Thanks to the work of a group of researchers, including one University of Central Missouri assistant professor, app developers now have a tool that will help them resolve crash issues with less human effort.

Eighteen Candidates Seek Homecoming Royalty Title

The University of Central Missouri annually conducts the Homecoming Royalty competition to select a King and Queen. Nine King candidates and nine Queen candidates are vying for Homecoming Royalty this weekend, with top contestants to be introduced during half-time of the Mules football game Saturday, Oct. 23. Homecoming Royalty will also participate in the parade that begins at 9 a.m. the same day.
