Refrigerator & Microwave Rentals
Mini Fridge & Microwave Rentals
Refrigerators and microwaves can be rented from University Housing or students may bring their own refrigerators as long as fridges are 6 cubic feet or less in size and 1000 watts or less. Microwaves mst also be 1000 watts or less.
Our refrigerators are standard size “mini-fridges”. Microwaves are 700 watt standard
microwaves. We offer the convenience of picking up these on move-in day and offer
a lower rental cost than the price of a new refrigerator or microwave purchased in-store!
Fridges and microwaves are used which means there are some scratches/imperfections.
Majority of fridges are fridges only (no freezer space).
You can rent the units together or just one or the other!
These are for pick-up on move-in day. They will not be placed in rooms already.
Costs:
Mini-Fridges: For a yearly rental is $70 including $20 deposit which is returned at the end of year upon return of the refrigerator.
Microwaves: For a yearly rental, it is $35 including $15 deposit which is returned at the end of the year upon return of the microwave.

Bedding & Room Essentials Purchases
Customize your space
- University Housing partners with SwakU to provide bedding guaranteed to fit both our standard and our extra long mattresses. Many options and packages are available.
- Find bedding, decor, carpets, storage solutions, mattress pads/protectors, and more!
- These items can be shipped directly to your home prior to move-in, or shipped to campus in late July for pickup on move-in days in August! If shipped to campus, these items will be available for pickup at the housing office in the Ellis Complex on move-in day.
Order by deadline on the website to be eligible for shipment to campus!
Loft Rentals
Lofts create 23 square feet of additional living space
- While most residence hall beds can be bunked, you also have the option to rent a loft kit
- Using a loft kit will allow you to raise a bed and place belongings (desk, chair, refrigerator) below.
- For safety purposes, students cannot build home-made lofts; only lofts from College Products are approved for use in University Housing.
Order before August 1 to save $20 on your loft!

- Loft pick up on move in day
Safe Purchases
Keep your valuables secure
We believe in a strong sense of safety and security of our students and their belongings. Though we believe we have a safe campus, issues can happen.
- Having a personal safe helps students as well as families feel their valued possessions stay secured.
- Safes purchased through College Products provide key or card (debit, credit, student ID, etc.) entry for their safes which can hold laptops, keys, IDs, money, and other valuables.
- The safes can be tethered to beds, shelves, etc. to make sure they don't walk away.
- Safes are DELIVERED to your room prior to move-in!
Safes are purchases (you own them!) and not rentals so be sure to take it with you at the end of the year!
Care Packages
Send your student a surprise care package and love from home!
Order Care Packages
Housing partners with Swak University Services to provide care package options.
This program allows parents and families to send a care package to their student during
specific times of year such as finals or to start off the year. Other packages exist
throughout to celebrate various holidays or to just say "we love you!"
