Graduation and Commencement

UCM awards degrees and certificates three times per year: May, August, and December.  Students completing a class during a 1st-half semester session or any other early start/end term session, must wait to have their degree and/or certificate awarded at the end of the full semester.

UPCOMING COMMENCEMENT DATES & DEADLINES

- January 15, 2026 - Last day to award a Fall 2025 degree/certificate

- TBD- Grad Fair at the University Store

- March 16, 2026 -cap and gown distribution for spring and summer graduation begins at the University Store at The Crossing through                                                    commencement day

- March 27, 20026- last day to apply for Spring 2026 graduation to have your name included in the printed commencement program 

- May 4-8, 2026 - Name card pick up available in the Registrar's Office (Ward Edwards 1000)
- May 8 and 9, 2026 - Spring Commencement ceremonies

- May 29, 2026- last day to award a spring degree/certificate

 

Commencement ceremonies are held for degree candidates twice per year: May and December.  Students completing their degrees in the Summer term are invited to participate in the May ceremonies.  Students who are only completing certificates are not recognized at commencement ceremonies. 

Students who wish to defer their graduation walk will need to apply to participate in a later commencement ceremony no later than March 1st for the May (Spring/Summer) ceremonies, and October 1st for the December (Fall) ceremonies.
