Fall Commencement Schedule

Attention 2020 Graduates: Invitations to the December 11-13 Commencement Ceremonies have been emailed to all Spring, Summer, and Fall graduates. Fall degree candidates had to apply for graduation by the October 16 deadline to receive an RSVP invitation. Students must fill out the RSVP survey (link included in the email) before November 1st!

All 2020 Spring, Summer, and Fall degree candidates are cordially invited to participate in Fall Commencement ceremonies being held Friday, December 11; Saturday, December 12; and Sunday, December 13 in the Multipurpose Building.  Please note that students earning certificates independent of degrees are not recognized at commencement ceremonies.

Spring and Summer 2020 graduates are invited to attend the December ceremony that corresponds with their level (undergraduate or graduate) and academic program/college (see the schedule of days/times below).  Students may not request to change to a different ceremony time - no exceptions.  All spring and summer graduates will receive an email in early-October from graduation@ucmo.edu with an RSVP form.  Students must RSVP (even if the response is that you do not plan to attend) by November 1.   Questions about graduation and commencement may be sent to the Registrar's Office at graduation@ucmo.edu, please include your full name and student number.

This web site contains extensive information about commencement, including a schedule of activities. If you have specific questions or need more information email graduation@ucmo.edu.

Graduation candidates must check their UCM Email accounts often. Important graduation information is sent to degree candidates throughout the semester.

Your level (undergraduate or graduate), academic college, and/or academic program determines which ceremony you are to attend.  If you are unsure which college or school your major/program belongs to, you can find a listing here. * Please note, not all teaching programs are in the College of Education.

All degree candidates will be able to pick-up caps and gowns starting on October 19, 2020, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. through December 6th at the University Store-The Crossing.  University Store hours during the week of commencement (December 7-13) will be Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday (12/11) from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday (12/12 and 12/13) from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.  Picture I.D. and regalia form are required.  Regalia order forms are found in MyCentral in the "Records and Registration" page (center column) and are available for print at the bookstore or from any on-campus computer.

Students pursuing an Individualized Major (not General Studies) should attend the ceremony with the college associated with their Individualized Major.

To make the commencement ceremonies as safe as possible:

  • We will limit the number of graduates per ceremony
  • Students will be allowed to bring a maximum of 7 guests to the ceremony
  • Masks are required to enter the arena and must be worn during the entire ceremony by all in attendance.  Students and guests will be expected to bring their own masks.
  • Student seat assignments will be made by college/program and last name.  Name cards and copies of the printed program will be placed on your seat before you arrive.
  • There will be no student processional - students will be seated at their assigned seat upon arrival.
  • There will be no hand-shaking on the stage when you cross, but you will pose for a photo.
  • We will also be live-streaming the events so that additional guests can watch from the safety of their homes.

As we have them, updates will be posted to the Graduation & Commencement website and will be emailed to students.  Questions about graduation and commencement can be directed to graduation@ucmo.edu.  Be sure to include your first/last name and 700# with any inquiries.
