AUDITIONS - Fall 2013

University Symphony Orchestra and Strings
Orchestra bassesThe University Symphony is an active and dynamic member of UCM and the surrounding community. The symphony is open to all woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, harp, and string players.

Each season the orchestra presents several classical concerts and play original versions of great orchestral repertoire from Schubert's Unfinished Symphony to Saint-Saëns's rousing Bacchenale. The symphony presents a Symphony Pops Concert, joins the University Choir to perform a major choral/orchestral work, and presents a Concerto/Aria Concert featuring the student winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition.

The orchestra has performed with Metropolitan Opera star Roberta Peters, and the classic pop music legends, The Association. The University Symphony has played at the Missouri Music Educators Association Convention and members have appeared as principle players in the Missouri All-Collegiate Orchestra.

Alumnae have received recognition and success on the national and international level in both the performance and music education fields. Symphony alumnae include the Concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony and Associate Concertmaster of the Houston Symphony.
