Immunization Policy

The University of Central Missouri Board of Governors, by recommendation of the United States Center for Disease Control and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, requires all international faculty and scholars to present documentation showing immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella (commonly called the MMR shots) and the testing for tuberculosis. Please bring your immunization record form with you to campus for review by a Health Center nurse.

Testing for Tuberculosis (TB)

In January 2010, the UCM Health Center adopted a new Tuberculosis (TB) testing procedure. This test is more accurate and produces faster results than older testing methods. The new TB test, or "T-Spot test" involves a blood draw. The test is done only if needed after a review of your history by a Health Center nurse. If your T-Spot test is positive, you will be required to obtain a chest x-ray which can cost from $125-$400. As of August 2010, we will not accept TB tests or chest x-rays from outside the United States.

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)

The UCM Board of Governors, per recommendation of the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), requires all international faculty and scholars to present documentation showing immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. Failing to comply with the immunization policy will result in a hold for next semester enrollment or suspension of employment or appointment as a visiting scholar.

Meningococcal Vaccine

If you are living in the University Housing, the State of Missouri requires that everyone living in University Housing must receive the meningococcal vaccine. Exemptions are allowed for medical/religious reasons. Please fill out exemption form along with immunization form if it applies to you. Failing to comply with the Meningococcal immunization policy will result moving in moving out of University Housing. If you were born before January 1, 1957 you are not required to provide this information, but everyone born on or after January 1, 1957 must have the shots. If you have not had them or if you have only had one, you must receive the needed shots in Warrensburg.
