Health and Safety

Health and Safety

UCM provides students and faculty with international travel insurance while abroad.  The cost is included in the program fee. Students are given an insurance brochure and are encouraged to be familiar with the benefits and features.

The health and safety of your students is the top priority of your program. Some ways to ensure your students are healthy and safe include:

  • Registering yourself, students and all others travelling with the U.S. State Department’s STEP program.
  • Enforcing rules and regulations, and respecting laws and customs of foreign countries.
  • Notifying the Study Abroad Coordinator of any serious problems with students, finances, political unrest, or any other area.
  • Completing Incident Report Forms to document any crime, medical emergency, violence, harassment, complaints, or health concerns.

Safety is a primary concern for UCM, faculty, students and our partners abroad. Generally, it is considered to be no more dangerous to study abroad than it is to study in the United States.
