Leading an Orientation

A mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation should be scheduled in conjunction with the Center for Global Education, at least two weeks before the trip. This meeting will address key issues of the program.

Faculty leaders should be prepared to discuss:

  • Program itinerary
  • Safety, health, legal, environmental, and cultural and religious conditions in the host country
  • Potential health and safety risks
  • Appropriate emergency response measures

The CGE representative will discuss administrative matters such as billing, health insurance, money, and travel documentation. Students will be required to have their Study Abroad Contract signed before they are allowed to  participate in the program.
